Sometimes, add-ins may cause issues. To determine the add-in that is causing problem, you should start your program in safe mode, and then check whether the issue is gone.

To get started in Secure Mode To start in Safe Mode

Press the CTRL key, then click on the icon for the application. Don’t let go of the CTRL key until it asks you to confirm that Safe Mode is on.

If you do, then run the application as usual and then disabling add-ons one after the other and restart the application every time you turn off an add-on to identify the responsible add-on.

Repair your office installation (Quick repair will suffice). Try repairing your Office setup installation at www office com setup. The first step is Quick Repair (takes 5 – 10 minutes) If that does not work, then attempt Online Repair (Takes more than 30 minutes but not more than an hour in general)
Log into Windows using a fresh profile, and check whether the issue is solved.
Sometimes, this happens because the program isn’t having access to your default printer. Shut down all office programs and then change the default printer using the Start menu > Printers and Devices. You can then switch to an alternative printer. It could be a physical printer, One Note or XPS or PDF or any other. If you are experiencing this issue then you’ll need to update the driver of your printer to that default printer.
Some third-party programs also contribute to the issue, for example Tuneup Utilities, Check if you’ve got one of these installed. Shut them all at once and check if it helps.
